Research is vital to high quality healthcare. Without it, we would not be able to understand or fight diseases that affect the lives of millions of people. Scientific advances through research have helped us to prevent, treat and cure diseases that, only a few decades ago, were incurable. These videos tell the story of the vital work that NIHR funds, and the world class scientists who lead that research. As a nation, we also owe a debt of thanks to the hundreds of thousands of trials volunteers who have played their part to find the modern medical treatments we take for granted today.
